Ingredients

Rice 1 cup
Red lentils (Daal Masoor) 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Cloves 2-3 pcs
Whole black pepper 2-3 pcs
Water 1-1/2 cups
Oil 1-2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and lentil.
  2. Soak in the water for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add cloves and whole black pepper.
  4. When the cloves and black pepper crackles, add water with turmeric and salt.
  5. When water boils, add rice and lentil in the pan. Let it cook, till the water absorbs.
  6. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes on a low flame.
  7. Ready to serve with Kadhi and Achar.
