Khichdi Recipe
Ingredients
| Rice | 1 cup | |
| Red lentils (Daal Masoor) | 2 tbsp | |
| Turmeric powder | 1/2 tsp | |
| Salt | 1 tsp | |
| Cloves | 2-3 pcs | |
| Whole black pepper | 2-3 pcs | |
| Water | 1-1/2 cups | |
| Oil | 1-2 tbsp |
Method for cooking Khichdi:
- Wash the rice and lentils.
- Soak in the water for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cloves and whole black pepper.
- When the cloves and black pepper crackles, add water with turmeric and salt.
- When water boils, add rice and lentil in the pan. Let it cook, till the water absorbs.
- Cover the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes on a low flame.
- Ready to serve with Kadhi and Achar.
